Thalassaemia Society of NSW

The Thalassaemia Society of NSW will continue in it’s mission to provide support for patients and carers of patients with thalassaemia, sickle cell anaemia, black-fan diamond disorder and other haemoglobinopathies, while providing funding for treatment, research and education.Thalassaemia & Sickle Anaemia are part of a group of genetic blood disorders which require life-long care. Communities with ancestry from the Mediterranean, Middle-East, South Asia, South-East Asia and Africa have a higher than average chance of carrying these genes.
